Is there any point to winning if we don’t even feel good?
Success is not what most of us assume!
Once upon a time, we felt ready for anything! We were happy and strong. We liked everybody!
This is success. Happiness and feeling strong is success. Feeling comfortable with others, and sharing our dreams is success!
It doesn’t come from winning over others. It comes from trusting them!
Winning over others is a bleak victory. The long term outlook is isolation.
We may win all the marbles, but were alone now, and there is nobody left who wants to listen to what our hearts feel!
Money, power, or popularity are never going to help us feel good. Not in any significant way.
Many of us have wasted much of our lives finding that out!
When there are no clear examples showing us how to feel good, it’s difficult to know what will make us happy!
Real success though, turns out to be feeling powerful in our own right!
It’s the ultimate satisfaction!
There is nobody, ever, who would give that up for any reason, not after regaining that feeling!
This is probably the ultimate success for any form of life!
All other forms of life never lose that feeling though. Only people do!
Why? Why do people lose their power?
With our present form of parenting, just about all of us end up hurting, and consequently somewhat disconnected.
The rich and famous struggle with bad feelings and conflict, just like the rest of us.
Every one of them knows that’s not the way life should feel.
Success is a personal and private thing.
It’s feeling gloriously alive and ready for anything.
It’s feeling free to express absolutely everything that we are without fear!
It’s living in trust!
All of which turn out to be much the same thing!
It’s being able to share absolutely everything that we are with everybody around, while feeling fully accepted that way!
It’s feeling good, really good!
It’s feeling exactly as we did when we began life!
Why don’t we know that? Why don’t we know what we really need?
We should be able to feel these things!
The reason we don’t, is because of the hurt we all live with!
We can no longer feel our needs!
People who hurt!
If any of us undertake enough therapy, we will, once again, feel our own needs.
That’s when we rediscover what we really want!
What’s that? Once again it’s to live in trust, able to fully express our real selves and be fully accepted in that way.
And to once again feel our own natural power.
The power that we were born with, the way all life feels!
Give us that, and we immediately recognize we have hit the jackpot! This is real success! This is what we need the most!
Feeling infinitely good is its own reward!
We will no longer wish for drugs! We will lose any wish for rebellion! We will have no use for hate!
All we want is to feel like this, to cooperate with those we love, and to play!
And to fulfill our natural and instinctive obligations to others.
That’s who natural and undamaged people really are!
No discontent whatsoever!
Why can’t we normally feel these needs of ours?
Unfortunately, for people in these times, the initial few years of our lives fill us with enough trauma to hurt for a lifetime!
This hurt prevents us from keeping the power we were born with!
There is a reason we are living in an epidemic of low self-esteem!
We all hurt too much to risk connection with our own feelings!
Reduce the hurt, and we can regain connection with our needs!
As things are now, we can’t! The hurt is just too great!
Why the hurt? Because all life is self-driven, but people don’t allow their kids to do that!
Like any seed, our children are born fully equipped with everything they will ever need to create their own life!
We don’t let them!
We pick a fight with their internal strength, and we win!
They get left with hurt!
That’s why all of us hurt!
If we can get rid of our hurt, our power will come back! It will be safe to feel our own feelings once again!
That’s the only success that can return us to really feeling right again!
