It is impossible to feel really good without being honest. It’s because everything good in life comes from within. To be dishonest means to betray what comes from within.
So then, why are people dishonest? When a person believes they are unlovable, there is no longer any motivation to be honest and consequently loved.
Being popular is the closest possible remedy. Of course after reaching this point, it’s all lies anyway.
How did we get here?
Expectations!
Life comes from within. We somehow stopped allowing that. We insist on obedience. But everything good and honest comes from within. So our entire culture has lost everything honest and good.
We no longer allow life to come from within.
Instead, we each live from the demands of others. There is nothing good or honest in that. Our society demonstrates where that has taken us. We can never make enough rules to make our environment as loving and honest as it would naturally be with life being allowed to come from within.
Nurture means to support and encourage. It doesn’t mean to control each other and expect obedience. Love and compassion only come from deep inside.
We can go back to love and trust anytime we are willing to allow and encourage independence.
At the moment, very few of us have that kind of strength.
