🌱Want the natural world back? Would allowing others their own identity help?🌱

This presents a radically different point of view. It’s worth considering though, as it presents an awesome promise.

This thesis is a look at what changed to make people wary, defensive, and untrusting. In doing so, it also reveals the way back to a trusting world.

Can people actually live in peace, with cooperation, trust and concern for others?

Of course!

Want proof? Well, it’s happened, therefore it’s possible!

Can we have a world where every person gets to feel accepted, and valued all the time?

The answer is the same! Even if it happened only once, that means it’s possible.

Sounds like science fiction, doesn’t it?

It’s reality though.

It’s even the default condition for humans.

Ironically, we have to work hard to keep civilization as defensive, and as violent as it is!

We have seen healthy environments, here and there, throughout history.

We can all remember feeling strong, and not rejected, living in absolute peace as an infant!

Life really can and does exist, where we are part of society, and where we don’t have to fight everybody else off, just to protect ourselves.

With our amazing technology, we tend to look down on communities at peace with each other, and the world.

Living in our own secretive and tightly controlled inner worlds, which result from our conflicted environment where others cannot be trusted, we simply have no sense of how good people can, and do feel, each and every day, all day long.

We can all feel like this!

It’s even the normal condition for humans!

How do we get there? For those who once enjoyed that life, what happened to destroy it?

The answer obviously isn’t making better rules until peace and harmony happen. I think we all know by now, where rules are taking us.

So what do we do?

Think it through! What are we doing wrong, that causes all this conflict?

What do we have to change to make our lives right?

We are all tired of living with fear, and living defensively, always hiding our secrets!

One thing for sure. This is not the way things are supposed to be. No other life on the planet is in fear and conflict all the time.

If we are so much smarter than primitive but trusting communities, we should be able to figure this out!

So, shall we figure it out?

To get started, I will present what I know to be true.

All life has identity. That’s the driving force.

It’s important! It’s even critical. That just makes sense.

Identity has cohesion.

It allows instincts, self awareness, appreciation of the environment, our needs, our wishes, and probably many other things to all work together, in our favor.

There is a big problem though.

Right now, we do not respect identity in our infants.

We have forgotten that we need to nurture our young. The word exists, so at one time we must have understood the need.

Do you think a planet full of people who never got nurtured might be a problem? Do you suppose it might cause insecurity? Could this cause conflict?

We love, and accept the big smile all right.

But we do not allow their identity to have any say at all!

We steer the infant every which way we choose!

But, we do not step back, and allow their own identity any rights!

Do you think that matters?

Our identity does sound important, maybe even the most important quality in life.

Of course it’s important, it’s us!

Let’s move on to us as adults. We hurt. We have secrets. We fight. We defend our space.

Many attend therapy. What do they do there? They dig out their fears, bad experiences, and hurt feelings, and put all of that, right out on the table.

Why does that help?

Why did they need to conceal these things in the first place?

When they stay with their therapy, they always eventually arrive at childhood trauma.

Why would that be?

People are in trouble. They work against their own real needs. If they are working from their identity, which they obviously aren’t, they would keep getting happier!

Clearly, identity is in jeopardy.

We pay dearly!

Is it possible that the measure of how much our own real identity feels empowered, is also the measure of how accepted we feel.

Could this also be how much self-esteem we are left with?

Nature provides nurture! We have stopped listening!

How much does it matter if we feel accepted?

Feeling accepted, we are trusting and expressive! This is a good definition of community and basic happiness. Will our behavior be cooperative? Of course it is.

The one thing people crave, even more than life itself, is acceptance.

I expect that’s a universal truth.

It really does make perfect sense, doesn’t it!

Accepting us, means accepting our identity though!

It doesn’t mean demanding we behave and believe a certain way, that others approve of, and then only accepting us in that way!

That’s the opposite of feeling accepted!

Could that be what’s wrong?

We crave approval. None of us get that! Not as our natural selves! We get approval only when we behave as others wish.

Our real identity is not welcome!

It’s a deadly serious issue.

If there is any truth to this situation at all, it perfectly explains the condition of this world.

Nobody gets to feel accepted! The consequence? Isolation, war, and probably eventual annihilation.

There is no problem with those people who get to be completely themselves. They are kind, cooperative, and playful.

They never needed our interference. Their own instincts along with their awareness of their own needs keep them cooperative and trusting.

There is a big problem with those who are trying to be what we demand though. We can’t even agree on what we want them to be, and what we want them to think. Every person has a different picture of what they wish that to be. Every child is different as well. These many competing ideas cannot all work, can they. Also, these are usually based on our own fears.

Compliance destroys the cohesion of the child.

These children always turn out troubled. Those of us with the courage to see clearly, are aware that it’s always the kids most controlled!

There is nothing wrong with an unguided child. That guidance is the job of their identity, through intelligence and instincts.

This works! It works for all other life as well!

Children will do the work of learning. How long does it take to learn to walk and talk? How difficult is that? Why do they bother?

The reality? They are vitally alive, and all go, go, go.

The only thing that can stop their learning is our disapproval of their real identity.

Right now, disapproval of real people is what we do!

The one thing that stops their wish to learn, is us!

The world, as it is now, is simply the consequence. It’s a fair balance for what we have done!

A child uncontaminated with our directions and wishes, but supported in being themselves, is the most wonderful creature in existence.

There is no chronic fear. Open and expressive, they are pure trust, love and support.

That’s all that’s wrong. We have eliminated these people, in favor of a troubled and hurting population.

We do not allow others to live through their identity, even though it’s their very best and most cooperative condition.

Of course, that’s a habit we learned by living in the wrong place, at the wrong time. We weren’t allowed to be ourselves, at the most critical time of our own lives, in infancy!

It’s understandable that we would lose connection with the natural world. Of course we lost touch with real and natural ways.

Mankind has forgotten how to nurture. We are supposed to be helping our offspring to develop their power and abilities.

That’s not what we do anymore.

That’s a catastrophic difference. Could it cause trauma?

Well, it certainly has!

Nobody feels naturally accepted. Would that explain the trouble this world is in?

Could it present the solution?

I believe this discussion should be left right here, just as it is.

We all want to feel good, feel valued, and stop having to hide from the world.

Please help, and do as much as you can. Help take us down a trusting, and comfortable path!

We want to create utopia, not better weapons!

Good luck on your journey,
